Conservation Issues


When the Clements Library acquired the Burbeck papers in 2014, approximately 250 items were in need of treatment and repair by the Clements's Conservation Department. Some of the manuscripts only required simple repairs while others had much larger, and more time-consuming conservation needs. These manuscripts have been temporarily removed from the collection until they are treated. Many of the water-damaged items are not able to be used by staff or patrons until the conservation work is complete.
