Clements Library Support Fund
The William L. Clements Library houses rare and unique original resources for the study of early American history. Your gift to the Support Fund helps the Library maintain our acquisitions, programming, lectures, conservation, and digitization efforts.

Support Acquisitions

Clements Library Associates
Volunteers first organized the Clements Library Associates in 1947 to raise funds for collection acquisition. Your gifts continue to provide important funding to acquire historical materials for study.

Create Scholarly Opportunity

David B. Kennedy and Earhart Fellowship Fund
This endowed fund honors David Kennedy’s love of history and lifelong quest for knowledge and commemorates the long-time support of the Earhart Foundation. Gifts to this fund will support the traveling expenses for fellows to research at the Clements.

Brian Leigh Dunnigan Fellowship in the History of Cartography
This endowed fund generates income used to provide funds for traveling researchers to work on a topic supported the Clements cartographic collections and is named in honor of Associate Director and Curator of Maps Brian Dunnigan.

Jacob M. Price Visiting Research Fellowship
Established to honor Professor Jack Price after his retirement as a distinguished member of the UM history faculty, the fund supports travel to the Clements for graduate students and junior faculty researching topics in American history.

Connect People with the Past

Clements Library Intern Project
Mentorship and hands-on experience are vitally important parts of students’ education. Donations to this fund will help the Clements provide access to our collections and give students a unique and valuable educational opportunity.

Michigan Map Society Fund
This endowed fund generates income used to augment the study and collection of maps at the Clements Library. Funding areas may include lectures, acquisitions and conservation of maps, and publications relating to the map collection.

Randolph G. Adams Lectureship
Your gift honors Randolph G. Adams, first Director of the William L. Clements Library, by supporting a lecture series on topics in American history.

Conserve Fragile Materials

Conservation Fund
Help the Clements Library purchase equipment and conservation supplies for the preservation of fragile books, maps, photographs, letters, etc. Conserving our rare American history collections will keep the materials accessible for generations to come.

Digitize Collections

Technology Fund
The Clements Library’s electronic initiative enhances access to our American history collections. Digitizing preserves fragile materials, promotes the Library as a destination for scholars, and allows researchers worldwide to use our collections.
