Plan Your Visit

The Clements Library welcomes registered researchers who have projects related to Clements Library collections. Materials are viewed in the reading room under staff supervision.

Unable to visit in person? Contact us to inquire about duplication services and other research options. You can also request a class session, find out about our public programming, and visit our exhibits on Fridays.

1. REGISTER AS A READER

All researchers visiting the Clements Library must register with us in advance. Registration allows you to request materials online to be retrieved and held for you in the reading room. Through your account, you can make new requests, track past requests, and initiate duplication orders.

2. SCHEDULE A VISIT

Appointments for research visits are strongly encouraged so we can hold a seat for you and confirm collection availability. Contact us to schedule your visit. See also Hours and Directions and Reading Room Rules.

3. REQUEST MATERIALS

Once you have registered with the Clements Library, you can place requests for materials directly from the finding aids and library catalog. See How to Request Materials and Search the Collections for more information.
