A collection of Native American anecdotes, illustrated with forty wood engravings of portraits and historical scenes. This book includes an abbreviated sketch of the life of John Dunn Hunter, captured and raised among Native Americans, as well as a compilation of other anecdotes of Native American history. According to the text, “what is not original in this work, has been selected or abridged form the most authentic records.” The green pictorial cloth binding is lavishly decorated in gold.
