Custom Archival Box – Three-Part Wrap

Many collection items come to us in worn and fragile condition. Various custom-fitted enclosures, wrappers, and boxes, made of acid-free materials and carefully measured and constructed by the conservator or a trained student intern, provide protection for collection items while they are handled or on the shelf. They are a physical demonstration of our committed, responsible care of collections and enhance accessibility.
Collections which receive attention: Manuscript journals, diaries, and ledgers; photo albums; atlases; books, and especially anything softbound. Irregularly shaped items receive additional “fills” or wedge-like inserts, custom-created to ensure a proper fit inside its box.
A donation of $100 will sponsor the cost of staff time and acid-free material, including a board and cloth outer shell/cover, necessary for a three-part wrap style box.
