Pair of albums related to an African American family in Missouri. Family names and inscriptions could link to genealogy and a broader story of post-Civil War African American middle-class life. Treatment work needed includes digitization as-is, removal of photos, creation of facsimilies to replace originals, mold removal, new housing for original photos, three-part wrappers for albums. Treatment cost estimated at $400 per album.

A similar pair of albums became the subject of an acclaimed and innovative class project led by Professor of History and Law, Martha S. Jones in 2014-2015, The Arabella Chapman Project.
