I am a digitization specialist for the Clements Library
Background
I started working at the William L. Clements Library after graduating with my degree in Art History from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. My role as a digital photographer builds on my experience in archives and special collections of various types and sizes.
Responsibilities
I work with curators, conservators, and reference staff to identify and prepare materials for digitization. Using scanners and cameras, I carefully photograph materials and edit images to be as true to life as possible. By creating digital facsimiles of rare and fragile materials digitization, we can increase access while protecting materials for the future. In addition to photographing materials, I generate metadata descriptions which allows for research by academics and the public.
