12 Clock Saturday Night
Dear Sir / I have the Pleasure to Inform ye. this Morning / yr. Son Doctr. John Sprague Arrived here ^in Health he Came Passenger in Capt. Callahan / in 30 Days Passage, got up by Watter from Salem last night, & lodg’d / on Board the Empress Rushia a Transport Ship from whence he got / on shore this Morning & being here with the Whole of us Under the Care / & protection of the General its Uncertain When he will See ye. or his / family Dr. Church Arrived here this PM. from Concord on Business / with the General is Allowed in the Morning to Return & Improve / the Appo. to Advise yo. of the above, & Cover a Letter for Coz Quincy / from her Husband, who left London in Capt. Lyde 45 days ago / & may be Hourly Expected –
Yr. Tennants have Applied to me to Hire yr. Barn f[or] / to Keep two Horses, & As there is a Regiment of Draggons Dayley / look for & Will probably Demand Every Stable thats not Improved / I have Consented to Hire yr. Barn & Tell them What Hay is there / that yo. may be Advantage’d by it Rather then let the Hay be Consumd / without Pay I hope it WIll Meet yr. Approbation
The Occurences here Are so Many, & the Uncertaintey of this Reaching / yr. Hands I must be Excused from Adding those Contents, we have no / Business done here only in the Millitary Operations we are / all very Peacable & Meet with no Molestation how long it will / Remain so God Knows – I Wish my self in yr Chimney Corner / My best Wishes Attend yo. & family & With Regards I remain Sir
